With tracks like My Lady, You and I, You’ve Got My Love and EDGE MICHAEL’S reggae rendition of the Lionel Ritchie classic Deep River Woman, Cornucopia will surely appeal to the romantic in all of us. When singing ballads EDGE MICHAEL is often compared to reggae greats: Bob Marley, Dennis Brown, Beres Hammond, Freddie McGregor, Lucky Dube, Maxi Priest and current hit makers Sanchez and Wayne Wonder, but it’s his ability to marvelously weave everyday experiences into song, reminiscent of the talents of Wyclef Jean, that undoubtedly resonates with listeners. Born oral mark durloo on the 9th day of february to david durloo and melzeta mcintosh (younger sister of reggae legend and superstar peter tosh. ) of westmoreland, jamaica. Edge's parents had dreams of him becoming a famous doctor or lawyer. However, at birth edge michael showed great signs of music in the veins. Growing up edge emphasized more interest in music than anything else. Music was indeed his destiny. From high school performances to professional recordings edge michael has been living his destiny. In the early 90's performing as lead vocalist for jah children band edge michael shared stage with celebrated acts dennis brown, gregory issaac and sanchez just to name a few. Soon after edge moved on to performing with members of the s. A. N. E. Band, his professional relationship with s. A. N. E. Was short but he was now travelling toward greater pursuits. Edge michael's first recording is the self composed and co-produced single entitled try my love on the crowd pleaser label in 1994. The effort received modest air recognition and sales in excess of four thousand copies. 1995 edge joined gumsion band performing lead vocals; the band was opening act and backing band for the celebrated beres hammond. That year edge played reggae sunsplash and reggae sumfest. In that year a second single was released, a remake of r. Kelly's bump 'n' grine. With the release of edge's 1996 effort "hard road to travel" a self composed, arranged and produced album with some 14 tracks of mostly thought provoking lyrics and love songs, edge started promotional touring. In the year 2000 he earned more credit to his music and a lot more to his fan base during a promotional tour of the usa performing on fox network-fox 5 good day atlanta and cbs-wgcl tv. 2002 saw edge putting finishing touches on his album who are they, this album received limited promotions and sales as; at the start of 2003 edge took two years off to assist in the set up and operations of his part owned radio station in jamaica linkz fm. In the process he also hosted a vibrant prime time three hours show mondays to fridays. He studied radio broadcasting at the university of the west indies mona. 2005 edge michael returned to his first love making music and performing, with solid performance during 2005 and 2006, new years day edge michael performed in portugal to start promotional touring of europe for 2007, germany, france, belgium, holland and switzerland in the months of january and february, a european album with house of riddim with a summer release projection. The man, the artiste and the writer are completely intertwined, presenting a natural and “down to earth” persona. Edge michael enjoys all forms of music he has to be in the mood. Chinese is his favourite food. Leisure time is spent with his instruments a good book or a great movie. He enjoys relaxing in jeans and cool shirts.
